 Friday's Return Of The Keyboard

My keyboard is broken …

"My ergonomic keyboard, never leaves me bored" ~ 'Wierd' Al Yankovic.

I miss my ergonomic keyboard.

“Keyboard … I miss you … I wish you were still with me. Someday we will get back together …”

I write with a Logitech mouse with a thumb-ball that navigates me through my web-world. I actually enjoy it’s stagnation on the black pad with puffy flesh palm pad.

My keyboard is a nice split deal with a fat-ass space bar and a nice wrist angle splay that does me right when I mental mind push the words down onto the proverbial page.

I have this ‘straight’ keyboard replacement jobby that really pisses me off with it’s narrow space bar and all of it’s tiny little misaligned keys and buttons.

It really tans my hyde! It makes me very, VERY mad!

I have not been here (writing on BS) because of that ‘palsy’ feeling I have when typing. I learned how to type on my nice wrist-friendly ergo-board. I have to invest the thirty-spot (five dollars on e-Bay) on a new board, but the strike is impending and I have been more than down.

Thirty two years and I am nothing more than a sad high school boy stocking shelves, looking at breakdown down numerous dos.

Move on and down the road in hopes of bringing something back to what it means to be me … ME.

From the 7th paragraph of the ‘Katha’ in the Upinishads:

"Having thus spoken, the boy journeyed to the house of Death."

The opening mantra to this chapter is:

"Om ...
May Brahman protect us,

May he guide us,
May he give us strength and right understanding.

May love and harmony be with us all.

Om ... Peace ~ Peace ~ Peace."

The keyboard will return, and so shall my words.

What did you think of the soundtrack ...

I’ve made a lot of friends on here and I have lost a lot of friends as well. There are people who have gone for no reason at all and have left no explanation as to where they may be roaming these days. There are those who have left and in turn left word to their whereabouts and I check in with them from time to time and they with me as well.

As in life, friends come and they go and they return or they do not, but they always leave you with a lesson or a memory or maybe even a smile and a mental memento.

When I reflect back on all of those who have graced my life I can easily find myself saddened and puffed up with reddened face and heavy lids as tears slowly fall through my smiles of joy and bliss. Memories of friends and times long ago can leave one with quite the mixed bag of emotions.

It is easy to not focus on the gifts that are given to us each and every day by the people we know or have known. It is far easier to retreat into ourselves and relish in the days of our mind's solitude that can momentarily be convinced into never returning interaction. They do return; they do rebirth. It may be in different form, separate visage, or antithetical existence, but they do. Rest assured, it is a revolving door and one can not dwell in the past, just as much as one can not forget. Both and all make life what it is.

To retreat into one's self wholly and completely is never, ever the answer. There are far too many rewards from even the most basic of interactions.

To all of you who have graced me with your words and kindness, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To all of you have shunned me, I thank you for showing me a greater lesson in my asking and answering of the question ‘why’.

To all of you that have let me back in after trying times, thank you for a second chance.

To all of you have stood by my side, I thank you for your dedication.

Through thick and thin, I thank you ALL.

It really is a blessing to know ALL that I do and to participate in life with your interactions.

Godspeed …

EVERYONE needs to stop fighting! It is as simple as that.

We can all get along by avoiding conflict!

If you don’t like someone then don’t go to their blog, don’t comment to them on other people’s post comments, and don’t send them PRIVATE messages.

If you don’t like someone in the chat, then go into a separate room or create a private room. The chat is for EVERYONE!

If you don’t like what someone has done in their past and you want their freedom to be taken away, then contact your senator and change the laws. Don’t go attacking them or contacting them or run around telling everyone how much you hate them.

If you don’t agree with someone and they don’t want to argue with you then stop contacting them.

Stop creating new ‘secret’ alter egos so you can continue to attack them. Grow up!

If you block someone, give them a reason, as that is polite, and then follow through. If you are blocked, own up to what you have done to deserve being blocked and act like an adult and accept it!

If something is of adult nature and you don’t like it, don’t read it. There is a reason for the ‘Adult’ category.

IT IS REALLY THAT SIMPLE.

NO more threats!

NO more attacks!

NO more posts that mention people that you do not like!

This is addressed to EVERYONE!

We are all not the same person. We all have different likes, religions, sexual preferences, intelligence levels and levels of emotional stability. If we were all the same we could save a lot of computer time by just sitting in the dark talking to ourselves!

No one, I repeat NO ONE, on here is better than anyone else. We are ALL people, humans. We ALL have made mistakes and we ALL have pasts and secrets and the such. STOP PASSING JUDGEMENT. If judgment must be had then make it the judgment that tells yourself to stay away from certain blogs/people. Let everyone else use their own damn judgment!

For the most part, we are all adults and need to start acting as such. We don’t need a big brother, a mediator or an on-line parent to tell us who should be allowed to exist. Start acting like adults and start respecting each other and our differences.

Getting along is EASY!

Just as in the real world:

STOP reading things you don’t like!

STOP talking to people you don’t like!

STOP commenting about how much you dislike people and their lives, their pasts, their words, their blogs!

The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Don’t be INSANE!

GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER NOW!

Life is far too short to do otherwise!

 The Long Awaited Duece!

Oh Yeah …

It is back.

Episode two to my favourite online show has recently been released. This, as I have promised many times, intercedes and impedes all, yes that’s right ALL, other topics to feature or highlight.

I came across this show a few months ago and featured the first episode on one of my other blogs (which you may know of) called ‘young broke and republican’ - yes that is where the initials for this blog title came from. I am going to feature all three clips I have that are associated with this show so that way no one has to go through the archives on other said blog in order to get up to speed. Some of you will be very happy. I am friggin’ ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the splendor and marvel known as ‘Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show’. Episode one is what got me hooked. I now am a GTCMS junkie. Hide your wallets and secure your jewelry as I will do anything to get my fix. This is episode one:

After viewing it and posting it and all-around salivating over it, I waited and waited for the promised follow up episode. I memorized the songs and would ask people, “Can you smell the freshness?”. I almost constructed a ‘Wheel of Fun’ for my living room, but Lady was not as enthralled with the show as I (even though she really did, really did, really did like it!).

This is the morsel of song video that they teased us all with as they were in talks to make GTCMS a real television programme. If they can turn the Geico cavemen into a half hour show then Kiko can get her half hour too. Yes, I know I just posted this a few posts back but skip over it or ride on with this post as it will build up to the unveiling of today’ super exciting extravaganza. This is the video for ‘Juicy’:

Juicy, juicy, juicy indeed! We truly are ALL juicy inside. This was a good little tide-me-over until episode two was to come out but it just wasn’t good enough and it was too damn short. My blood boiled, my heart raced; I broke out in cold sweats. Episode one and the video just weren’t doing it like they used to. I had done them too much. I needed to go to the next plateau of GTCMS highs. I needed to get completely loaded on GTCMS - a bender on Kiko, an overdose on the theme song. This morning something told me to go to YouTube and check with my dealer to see if the new batch came in. Ohhhhhhhh yeah …

Without further adieu or drug parallel ramble, here is the magnificent ‘y b r’ premiere of ‘Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show: Episode Two’:

Are you not stoked, hysterical, stuck in shock with your mouth wide open trying to really figure out what the hell it was that you just saw? I have watched four times already and I just got home from work. I am soooooooo ripped on my hot shot of GTCMS. I thought episode two would never come and now that it is here I am really getting off!

The second new tid bit to let you all know about is the official website for GTCMS. There are t-shirts, updates and all sorts of cool features to check out. You know I plan on buying numerous t-shirts, you just damned know I am. They have one that simply says, ‘Talk To The Hotdog’. Now come on, who doesn’t want a shirt that says that? The money in my pocket is burning a hole and this is exactly what I needed to rock on into the week and rejoice at being alive with as things really do have a way of working out!

The official website can be found through this link:

http://gorgeoustiny.com/

See, I do all the work for you! No pesky typing in an addy at the end of a video clip, just smooth easy clicking right from here, right form ‘y b r’.

Wasn’t it worth coming by today?

It was most definitely worth it for me!

Between now and the weekend I will have three posts that I have to put up. A couple are funny (one about drugs and one about conspiracy theories) and one of them is the holy mother of shout outs to Adam of ‘What Would You Still Do’ and his many other blogs that we all enjoy here on BS. Sorry Adam, I know I keep teasing with this promise but I know, KNOW, you are liking Kiko so maybe you can understand and laugh along with all of the characters and madness and my smidgen of procrastination. Who knows, you might even get a two part post (for all of you counting that would make four posts by next weekend - make sure you are keeping score as we can all tally up results at the end of the game and distribute the prizes!).

Speaking of games and prizes, is there anyone out there who would like to play some sort of interactive blog type game or no? I am just wondering and would like to do some reader participation stuff. No one has bitten this bait before as I have tried now three times, but I figured it was worth a fourth try. Let me know as I have a few cool ideas!

I hope you are all enjoying the Spring and getting ready to rock on through the Summer.

I am just happy to have my online friends and some green tea with honey.

Godspeed …

Atrail Was Never In The 'Lovin' Spoonful'

I am back and am very tired and have found my cold back from the begining of the trip (I got very sick at the begining of the vacation due to the travel and forced insomnia). This seemed like a good opportunity to ease back into my writing and still be able to get the rest I need.

It seems that BS has it's panties in a twist again and there is much chaos around and abound.

I am not sure how many of you ask yourselves why I end all of my correspondences the way I do, but I do get the questions from time to time.

Random House has a site called 'The Maven's Word Of The Day', this is how they define it:

{The word Godspeed is used to wish a person good fortune or success, as on starting a journey, a new business, etc. It is usually found in expressions of the sort "to bid (a person) Godspeed."

A few examples: "Evangelist, after he had kissed him, gave him one smile, and bid him God-speed. So he went on with haste..." (John Bunyan, Pilgrim's Progress); "'I'm wishing you God-speed, Hattersley,' cried Arthur, 'and aiding you with my prayers'" (Anne Brontë Tenant of Wildfell Hall); "Rowland at the garden gate was giving his hostess Godspeed on her way to church" (Henry James, Roderick Hudson); "Eight years before he had seen his friend off at the North Wall and wished him God-speed" (James Joyce, Dubliners).

Godspeed is a nominalization of the phrase God speed (you), understanding which depends on two things: speed in this sense means 'to prosper; succeed', which is now archaic, but which is the original sense of the word; and the verb is subjunctive, expressing a wish, with the entire phrase meaning "may God cause you to succeed." Semantic parallels are such common expressions as God bless you or God forbid!; another nominalization is goddamn (as in "I don't give a good goddamn what you think"), shortened from God damn you.

The word Godspeed (which can also be written God-speed) is from Middle English, first found in personal names in the thirteenth century.}

RhymeZone offers the more brief definition:

{noun:   a successful journey
Example: "They wished him Godspeed"}

This is what I intend with my consistant correspondence closure.

There was a post many moons ago, over at 'young broke and republican', where I actually talk of the person who introduced me to the phrase or term or whatever you want to call it. They are why I use it to this day. It just suits me and who I am. I shall always use it or so I should think.

I hope all is well in all of your neck of the woods.

I have a couple of cool and interesting posts planned for the coming week. Adam's post is third on that list - that will be a good one.

'Thanks' to all who read this and, of course, those who comment.

I hope you are all well and safe.

Godspeed.

R.E. Knowlton III

~ I wonder if anyone knows of the original post that mentions the man? Probably, most definately, not. I would be surprised if his name appears in the comment thread to this post ...

~~ I sure-as-shit know that no one will get the title to this post ...
